• 18 different types of aflatoxins were identified.
• The major members are aflatoxin B1, B2, G1 and G2.
• Based on their fluorescent color when exposed to ultraviolet
light.
• (B series = blue fluorescence)
• (G series = yellow-green fluorescence).
• The aflatoxins fluoresce strongly in UV (365 nm).
