   4) Oxidative phosphorylation: Oxidative phosphorylation is the
   process in which ATP is formed as a result of the transfer of electrons
   from NADH or FADH2 to O2 by a series of electron carriers. It is the
   major source of ATP in aerobic organisms and occurs in the
   mitochondria. It is linked to a process called electron transport.
  The electron transport system, located in the inner mitochondrial
membrane, transfers electrons donated by the reduced electron
carriers NADH and FADH2 (obtained from glycolysis, the citric acid
