• Some bacteria decompose the organic matter to
simple components. (nourishment of the plant).

• Plant pathogens like fungi (Fusarium, Pythium,
Phytophthora) are inhibited or prevented from
causing diseases by certain bacteria (Pseudomonas
spp).
