Spread or Range (w)
The spread, or range, w, is another term that
is sometimes used to describe the precision
of a set of replicate results. It is the difference
between the largest value in the set and
the smallest.
Thus, the spread of the data in Figure 5-1 is
(20.3 – 19.4) = 0.9 ppm Fe.
