I. Non-oxidative phosphorylation
(Phosphorylation at Substrate Level)
• This involves the formation of ATP as a result of
transfer of energy from one of the high-energy
compounds mentioned above to ADP + Pi in the
following pathways:
a) Glycolysis: (in 2 Steps)
1. The reaction catalyzed by the enzyme 3-P-glycerate
kinase.
2.The reaction catalyzed by the enzyme pyruvate
kinase.
b) The citric acid cycle: (in one step)
