Objectives:
By the end of this chapter students should
1) Define the vital role of enzymes as biological catalysts.
2) Appreciate the role of fat soluble as well as water-soluble vitamins as
coenzymes & health keeping factors.
3) Gather and integrate information relevant to the applications of
biochemistry in the interpretation of clinical cases using information
technologies and library resources
4) Calculate mathematically the Km value and determine types of enzyme
inhibition
5) Correlate experimental techniques and results with potential clinical
applications
