Protein Digestion:
Proteins are too large to be absorbed by intestine they must be
hydrolyzed at first to give amino acids (Can be easily absorbed)
Three organs produce the enzyme needed for protein
digestion
Stomach Pancreas Small intestine
Not mouth
Enzyme secreted by salivary gland is
amylase which is responsible for
carbohydrate digestion in mouth.
