Hello, we are Surjit Singh and Ravinder Kaur Dheri, parents of Jaspreet Kaur, Ramanpreet
Kaur, Baljinder Kaur, and Mantej Singh Dheri. We have had the joy of being involved with the
Hemkunt Foundation for over 20 years.

Participating in the Hemkunt Speech and Kirtan competitions has deeply enriched our
family's life. Not only has it given our children a deeper understanding of Sikhi, but also we

were able to gain knowledge from this unique experience ourselves. Through these
competitions our family has gained a greater appreciation of Guru Ji’s teachings, fostered

diligence and discipline, learned to embrace humility in defeat, and were provided invaluable
opportunities to share our time and knowledge with other families. In addition, the

competition has taught our children valuable public speaking skills, built up their self-
confidence, and created a community of like-minded peers--all of which have continued to
provide opportunities and benefit them into their adulthood.

The speech and kirtan competitions have also provided the opportunity for my family to

travel all around the country, visiting places like Florida, New York, Houston, and LA, where
we have met other wonderful families and created lasting memories together. It is our

most sincere wish that the Hemkunt competitions continue to provide other families with
these meaningful opportunities just as it has for my family.
