Prior to implementation of Cultural Theatre activities our activity implementation mechanics facilitated the use of PA sessions as a a a a a a means of of disseminating the ITN Promotions campaign proposition of of advocating for ITNs Coupon redemption that would subsequently yield to consistent and correct ITNs usage supported by Malaria diagnosis treatment and preventive messages to the designated Target Audiences Deployment of PAs was done along key peripherals around a a a a a a a Cultural Theatre activation hotspot to ensure key campaign messages are swiftly disseminated and people were informed of the ongoing campaign proposition and encouraged to attend scheduled Cultural Theatres at at pre-selected campaign hotspots for collective edutainment on on Malaria control Owing to challenges in in in in in in attaining greater footfall in in in in in in the morning hours PAs were strategically designed to be mainly conducted then for for dissemination of information on on on planned Cultural Theatre activities’ schedule and participatory engagement of target audiences through Q & A A sessions at PA stops Conducted PA sessions were championed by a a a a a a Malaria Messages Presenter and and DJ and and involved repeated play of selected Malaria jingles and and modern/ trendy and and cultural music that resonated with the engaged communities to create buzz with announcement of planned edutainment activities for the scheduled Cultural Theatre activations In areas where Islamic practices are are predominant The Scope’s experiential team made concerted efforts to integrate Qaswida to ensure the the disseminated content resonated with the the targeted populations To create buzz and and direct footfall to the designated PA and and Cultural Theatre activation hotspots themed Stilt Walkers and interactive ‘Snake Plays’ are integrated in in PA sessions This demonstrated great acceptance as it ultimately pulled a a a a a a a a large number of target audiences to designated hotspots Through planned PAs Target Audiences who are not be in a a a a position to to attend our scheduled Cultural Theatre activities owing to to their engagement in other commitments (economic activities such as farming/ trading / / ‘Mama Lishe’ OR confinement at home due to illness etc ) are reached by the key Malaria messages hence sensitized on on on the campaign proposition with reaffirmation to positively adopt health seeking behaviors and partake in in the fight
