Continuous Improvement Cycle
ECACS Stakeholder Engagement
One of the significant improvements being introduced in the As- surance Framework involves the expectation of engaging educa- tional stakeholders in the continuous improvement process. School and divisional administrative teams are no longer solely responsible for analyzing data, developing strategies, and identify- ing performance measures in isolation of the stakeholder commu- nity. The Assurance Framework provides school divisions with a flexible approach to engage stakeholders to target local strategies and performance measures to improve student learning, instruc- tion, and assessment practices that align with the provincial do- main outcomes.
Engagement Principles
The engagement process will focus on:
Informing
- Providing a balanced and objective description of the educational challenges facing the division or local school communities.
Consulting
- Obtaining feedback on performance measures to inform practice.
Involvement
- Actively engaging stakeholders to ensure concerns and aspirations are understood and considered in the contin- uous improving process.
Collaborate
- Partnering with key stakeholders to identify and develop preferred solutions that take into account the local con- text of the division and school community.
Empowering
- Developing a shared collaborative decision-making process to identify strategies and performance measures aligned to the local context of each community that im- proves learning, instruction and assessment prac-
