  ASSESSMENT OBJECTIVE
The focus of the assessment is to evaluate Solut’s proposed Microsoft server cloud-hosted migration plan to ensure the technology infrastructure evergreen plan aligns with district management, education, and financial goals.
BACKGROUND
In the 2014-2015 school year, the East Central Catholic trustees hired Mr. Charlie McCormack as the new Superintendent. One of the urgent board priorities that Mr. McCormack was assigned involved addressing the district technology infrastructure and service challenges.
Mr. McCormack started to address the board directive by contracting SNS (Solut) to completed a base-line technology infrastructure and service assessment. Upon the completion of the base-line assessment SNS provided a list of recommendations that consisted of:
•reducing the district dependence on open source software service solutions.
•implementing enterprise standardized customer edge (CED - Fortinet) firewall equipment.
•implementing enterprise standardized hardware and software (Microsoft) solutions to provide file, printing, DHCP, Active Directory, inventory, backup, disaster recovery, and imaging services.
2
•implementing enterprise standardized wireless (Ruckus) infrastructure.
•redesigning WAN, LAN, and SuperNet network configurations.
•implementing enterprise standardized voice over IP phone services (VOIP).
•centralizing Internet Service Provider (ISP) services with Shaw through Axia gateway services.
•evaluating the current ITIL Framework and subcontracting the enterprise IT support services instead of relying on local district IT support staff.
SNS (Solut) was then tasked with the responsibility to implement the assessment recommendations under concise time constraints; the entire district was equipped with an enterprise wired and wireless infrastructure to support the district and school technology service requirements.
