   Glenn Nowosad
Glenn is the founder of the Canadian based firm, IT-ET Shift Happens and the cofounder of the international educational consulting company Springboard21. He supports leadership teams in the area of best practice research and integrating technology infrastructure to enhance instruction and improve student learning opportunities. Glenn’s educational career has spanned 25 years in K-12 education in four different communities throughout Alberta, Canada. His teaching experience has ranged from high school science, physical education, and religious programming to computer career technology studies (CTS) programs. Over the last 15 years, Glenn has served Lakeland Catholic School District 150 as Director of Technology and, lastly, as Associate Superintendent of Technology and Student Learning Services. He transformed the school district from a stationary workstation infrastructure to a mobile wireless framework through the implementation of one-to-one laptops, tablets, and bring your own device (BYOD) programs. Glenn has implemented countless initiatives, like Alberta’s first rural K-12 ISP service, Canada’s first Apple K-12 iTunesU instances, Webcrossing Collaboration services, Ensemble Video, Noteshare Collaboration services, CrashPlan, Snapstream, Google ApPowerSchool, Collaba Portal, PowerSchool, JamfSoftware, Joomla, Moodle, WordPress, ePearl Portfolios, Sedna Presenter, WebHelp Desk, and CMap Concept Map services--just to mention a few.

He has worked closely with Alberta Education on implementing many provincially funded research projects investigating the impact of technology on instructional and assessment practices within the classroom. The school district’s eMerge team was awarded the Premier’s Award of Excellence in 2011 for the work completed in the One- to-One Laptop Research Project. Glenn has continued with his passion for integrating and assessing new instructional, assessment, and technology practices by completing a master’s degree in the area of education technology and design at the University of Saskatchewan.
