JAPHTA RAKHOSI PITSE’S OBITUARY
The late Japhta Rakhosi Pitse was born on the 29 September 1935 and was the first born of the
late Mr. Semahla Howard Pitse and Anna ‘Matshehla Pitse. His parents tragically lost 6 of his
siblings whilst they were still young. The surviving siblings were Tshepo Daniel Pitse and
Ntebaleng Cecilia Pitse who passed away in August 2015, and April 2018 respectively.
He attended primary school at Boribeng primary school in Lesotho and proceeded to Basotholand
High School in Maseru, Lesotho where he matriculated. In 1962 he married Rose Eva Motsepe
and they were blessed with two children, Kutloano and Lebohang Pitse. He subsequently married
Nurse Lovedalhia Moerane in 2006 who had two children Refiloe and Kekeletso Thato. As well
as grandchildren, Leseli and Lehlohonolo Thato.
He started his career in the taxi industry after the family relocated from Lesotho to South Africa
and later proceeded to Afrox and Coca Cola SA as a Truck Driver. Upon the realization of his
passion for the sales fraternity, his career took a different path in 1973 when he joined Legal &
General as an Insurance Consultant. In the mid 80’s he started his own Brokerage for a short
while before joining Standard Bank as an Insurance/Investment Broker where he remained well
beyond the retirement age.
It was only in 2017 when he felt the time to part ways with the industry and, embark on an
initiative of installing All Steel Wash lines within the Property Market. He also wanted to spend
the remainder of his life as much as possible with his family. Unfortunately, he met his untimely
th
death on Wednesday the 24 of March 2021.
He is survived by his children, Kutloano and Lebohang Pitse, daughter in law Zanele Pitse and
two grandchildren, Tsepiso and Rorisang Pitse.
