Destination Moon Poster Exhibit • Sept. 7-11 • Library
This limited time poster exhibit explores what led the United States to accept the challenge to reach the moon and how the resulting 953,054-mile voyage to the moon and back was accomplished just eight years after the program was authorized. Destination Moon examines the missions and recognizes the sacri ces and devotion of more than 400,000 people employed in NASA programs who worked through the trials, tragedies and triumphs of the 20 missions from 1961 to 1969.
Pumpkin Decorating Contest
Enter Green Tree Public Library’s rst-ever Pumpkin Decorating Contest! Decorate or carve a pumpkin to be displayed at the library. Pick up a registration pack the week of October 4th to 9th, then drop off your decorated pumpkin October 11th to 16th to be displayed at the library. Winners will be selected from the following age groups: Children ages 7 and under, Tweens ages 8-12, Teens ages 13-17, and Adults ages 18 and up. Pumpkins will be judged on their artistic quality, creativity and ingenuity. Registration is in-person only and only during the week of October 4th.
