Leadership by Design
Serving up sleek, modern design and cutting edge technology,
Bosch wins hearts and minds to sustainable ideas.
F YOU HAPPEN TO PICK UP PAUL HAWKEN’S NEW BOOK, “Drawdown,” you’ll find a
long list of innovations with the potential to address climate change, at the same time
improving our overall quality of life. It’s no coincidence that many of these ideas intersect
with products and projects being explored by the Bosch Group, a global company with
about 70 locations in the U.S.
To say that Bosch is ahead of the curve on technology is something of an understatement.
IThe company consistently ranks as one of the top three sustainable brands in our annual
reader survey, taking first place in 2016. Among green professionals, they are best known for their
reliable energy- and water-saving appliances, so often the brand of choice for high-end custom homes
and condos.
But that’s just a tiny slice of Bosch’s “vision” for the future. Like us, they understand that net-zero
housing is just one component of our green future. In order to really tame the tiger of runaway
Climate Change, we must look at all of the major resource consumption. That means changing to
new modes of transportation, such as autonomous cars, electric bicycles and electric vehicles. Also,
we must rethink energy use, putting “smart” technology to good use, monitoring and reducing waste.
Perhaps because of their nearly two centuries of engineering experience, Bosch approaches efficiency
from all of the angles. They’ve designed super-efficient geothermal heating systems, smart controllers
for HVAC systems, and, on a more “hands-on” level, new ways for contractors to track and manage
their expensive tools.
Like other successful innovators such as Apple, Bosch never forgets the end user. They keep the
highly technical aspects of their products in the background, offering stylish, easy-to-understand
controls and product design. In this exclusive e-book, we’ve collected some of our most inspiring
and informative articles about the future of sustainable innovation. Their one common thread: they
showcase technology in which Bosch is a driving force.
