I explore Gauguin’s technique which consists to ink the plate, place a fresh sheet of paper on the inked plate and draw on the back of the sheet to ‘print’ lines.

- Print 004-a: the plate was not sufficiently ‘dried’ which gives a messy finish
- Print 004-b: I traced the contours with a cotton bud. I also removed some paint in the hair, mouth and eyes.
This technique felt less intuitive. It creates a completely different feel and look. Using cotton buds to remove paint give the feeling of a negative of a photo.
