                  A 7-year-old boy was not sleeping well, had been irritable, and had complained to his

                  mother  about  anal  itching  and  irritation.  The  boy's  younger  sibling  also  began  to

                  complain of similar symptoms.

                         The  children  were  taken  to  the  pediatrician  for  evaluation.  He  ordered  a

                  parasitological  laboratory  test  to  provide  a  strict  diagnosis.  A  worm  egg  seen

                  microscopically enabled the laboratory to identify the worm causing the symptoms.
