My time at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School has been a mix of both positive and negative experiences; more so the latter. I find that the rules and
policies at this school is quite poor and biased. -The teachers are on a 50/50 scale when it comes to professionalism. Some are very involved and passionate
about their subjects. While others tend to take advantage of their position and bask in the glory of failing a student in some sort of cruel satisfaction. -The
academics are poor. Ex. They have 8th grade level books in senior classes. -Most of the clubs and teams are very tight knit. However, they can be a bit
judgmental towards newer people. Organizations such as ROTC, DECA, or Marching Band present very cult-like behavior as in they rarely ever interact with other
people who they deem inferior. -The school loves to preach "Mental Health Awareness", yet has some of the most emotionally abusive staff that I have ever seen.
And they wonder why kids don't want to reach out.
