Caring for the Surrounding

Prophet Muhammad SAW often did his preaching at the mosque he built at Madinah. It
was a humble mosque. Main of the nature materials from the surroundings, the pillars
wood even made of the stem of date trees.

One of the date trees stems was put in front of the mosque where Prophet Muhammad
SAW used to stand and preach. He used to step on the stem so that people standing at
the back row could see him.

One day, one of his companions has an idea, “Dear Rasulullah how about making you
a podium as the place for you to stand while you are preaching?”

“That is a good idea my companion.” Responded the Prophet.

As the Prophet agreed to the idea, all companions worked together to build a three-stair
podium. When the prophet stood on the podium, all people could see and hear him
clearly.

Finally, the podium was ready. The companions put it at the front side of the mosque.
They moved the date trees stem that used to be used by Prophet Muhammad SAW.

Friday came, for the first time the prophet was going to use the podium. He walked
passing by the old stem that he used to use, then he steps on the stairs of his new
podium.

Suddenly, they heard a sound of crying and groaning. Everybody was surprised. “What
is that sound?” everybody was looking at each other wondering.

Then, Prophet Muhammad SAW realized that the sound came from the date tree stem
that was lying down next to the podium. Suddenly, the stem broke into two.
