“For me, experimenting with Chemigrams is part of a natural progression toward abstraction coupled
with an attraction to process-based images where the outcome may be directed as opposed to controlled. Neither photographs nor drawings, Chemigrams’ DNA include genes coming from both worlds. Created on black-and-white photographic paper, using traditional photographic chemicals, ingredients from the kitchen, art materials, and light, the im- ages are coerced into being by painting, spraying, and/or dipping the paper into the different solutions.”
