Materials: Number Battle board, 4 Number chip sets (0-9),
4 Operation chip sets (＋,,＝)
Let’s make number sentences using the number chips and operation chips.
It does not matter if having more number chips than the other player when
failed making a number sentence. It may be the chance to win the game
when making a number sentence using more number chips at a time.
Number 1. Place the Number Battle board in the middle of the table. Spread the operation
Battle chips face up and place them in the middle of the board. Shuffle four number
chip sets face down and stack them aside.
2. Decide who will go first. Each player takes five number chips and puts them in
the slot of the board without showing the numbers to the other player.
3. Make one number sentence using his/her number chips and operation chips in
his/her turn and place them down. The operation chips can be used freely.
Making addition sentences
Making a number sentence that the value of both sides are the same
Take one number chip from the stack if he/she cannot make a number sentence
in his/her turn, then the other player takes a turn.
4. The player who first uses all his/her number chips wins or the player who has
fewer number chips left over wins when the player has no chips to take. On the
other hand, the player loses when the player puts nine number chips in the slot
of the board.
