The hour and the half hour
Find the angle between the long hand pointing to the 6 and the short
hand pointing halfway between the two numbers such as 1:30 or 4:30.
Let’s find the angle changes in 30 minutes for the long hand and short
hand.
Material: Demonstration clock
1 Prepare one demonstration clock.
2 Set the time at 12:30 on the demonstration clock and draw two hands
exactly where they should be.
3 For one hour (60 minutes), the short hand moves 30° and the long hand
moves 360°. Let’s find the angles for each hand moving for 30 minutes.
