Basic Concepts Overs and Shorts

When you give 2 biscuits to each child at a playground, 5 biscuits are left
over. Therefore, you give 1 more biscuit to each child, but you are short of 1
biscuit this time. Here is how to find the number of children at the playground.

The number of children is equal to the sum of the number of biscuits left
over when you give each child 2 biscuits and the number of biscuits that
you are short when you give each child an additional biscuit. Therefore, the
number of children at the park is 5 1 6.
