E very year, thousands of kids leave home for
the summer. Where do they go? They go to
summer camp. At summer camp, kids leave the
city for a few weeks and live in the mountains, by
the sea, or near a river. The summer camp has
camp counselors. They watch the campers and
teach them things.
Some kids feel a little homesick. They are away
from their parents and home. This is hard for them. most
kids really like summer camp. There are usually a lot of fun activities at
summer camps. Kids swim and ride horses. They have camp fires and sing
songs. It is a lot of fun.
