Activity 2 Corresponding and Alternate Angles

Learn about corresponding and alternate angles.

A line, like GH, that crosses 2 or more G C
lines is called a transversal. When the AB
2 lines, AC and DF, intersect with a
transversal(GH), 8 angles are formed.

Angles that are in corresponding D EF
positions, such as ABG and DEB, H

ABE and DEH, CBE and FEH,
and CBG and FEB, are called
corresponding angles.

Alternate angles are angles that are on the opposite sides of the
transversal.

Alternate interior angles are interior angles that are on the opposite
sides of the transversal, such as ABE and FEB, and CBE and

DEB.

Alternate exterior angles are exterior angles that are on the opposite
sides of the transversal, such as ABG and FEH, and CBG and

DEH.
