Line Segments and Lines
A line connecting two points is a line segment. A segment that connects
points A and B is segment AB or segment BA.

A line segment that is extended in both sides infinitely is called a line. A line
that extends beyond point A and B is line AB or line BA.

AB

A figure with three connected segments is a triangle, and a figure with four
connected segments is a quadrilateral. The following is triangle ABC and
quadrilateral ABCD.

Connecting Points to Make Figures

The following shows triangles that can be drawn on a dot board that has
the same vertical and horizontal lengths between dots.

When the figures above are turned or flipped, they all overlap. So only one
figure of triangle can be drawn.

EExxpplloorree There are 3 line segments, segment AB, segment BC, and
segment AC in the line below. A line extends without an end, and
hence, line AB, line BC, and line AC are all the same. So, there is
only one line.
