Car A is a red clockwork car, so it rolls twice the amount that it is pulled back.
So, it moves 1^2=2 cm, which is 2-1=1 cm from the starting line.
Car B is a blue clockwork car, so it rolls three times the amount that it is pulled
back.
So, it moves 2^3=6 cm, which is 6-2=4 cm from the starting line.
Car C rolls twice the amount that it is pulled back.
So, it moves 2^2=4 cm, which is 4-2=2 cm from the starting line.
Car B will be in the first place, car C in the second, and car A in the third.

The red car rolls twice the amount that it is pulled back, so the distance it
goes from the starting line is the same as the distance the car is pulled back.
Car B rolled 4 cm forward from the starting line, so in order for the red car to
reach the same distance, it would need to be pulled back 4 cm.

Use a table to record the time shown on a broken clock every 10 minutes.

10 minutes later Time shown on clock Amount minute hand moved
20 minutes later
30 minutes later 2:15 15 minutes
40 minutes later 2:35 20 minutes
3:00 25 minutes
3:30 30 minutes

When measured every ten minutes, the minute hand moved 15 minutes, 20
minutes, 25 minutes, and 30 minutes. The minute hand is moving 5 minutes
faster every ten minutes.

From 40 to 50 minutes later, the minute hand would move 30+5=35
minutes, so the time would read 4:05.
