Notes: Kelp Gulls nested every year at Swartkops. From eventually the Redhouse Saltpan colony was abandoned
2000, the nests on the Redhouse Saltpan were regularly and the majority of the Kelp Gulls started breeding at the
raided by people removing eggs and chicks. This resulted Tippers Creek colony where nests are often inundated
in more pairs breeding on the Brickfields Island and by high spring tides (Whittington et al 2006; AP Martin
unpubl.).
