> Web application
– A top level container hosting site collections
> Site Collection
– Container for SharePoint websites
> Website
– Container for other websites (called
Subsites), lists and document libraries
> List and Document Library
– Container in which SharePoint stores
data, i.e. files in libraries, structured data
in lists
> Items
– Lowest level in the Hierarchy, consisting of
objects like files, list items, folders, pictures
etc.
