B. Flaming the neck of bottles and test tubes
1. Loosen the cap of the bottle so that it can be removed easily.
2. Lift the bottle/test tube with the left hand.
3. Remove the cap of the bottle/cotton wool plug with the little finger of the right
hand. (Turn the bottle, not the cap.)
4. Do not put down the cap/cotton wool plug.
5. Flame the neck of the bottle/test tube by passing the neck forwards and back
through a hot Bunsen flame.
