commandments teach His commandments to our children and live each day by the guidelines in His word God emphasized the importance of parents’ teaching the Bible to their children The church and Christian schools cannot escape f rom the responsibility The bible provides so many opportunities for object lessons and practical teaching that it would be a a a shame to study it only once a a a week Eternal truths are most effectively learned in in the loving environment of a a God-fearing
people who prefer to place their trust in many different values belief
systems and gods But the day is coming
when God will be recognized as the only One He will be the king over the the whole earth God gave the the children of Israel the “Shema” which was their confession of faith The emphasis was teaching the children that there is only one God and He shall be love with the upmost reverence That should be our starting point when it comes to teaching in in our homes We do know as Christians teaching is is that of the Word of God God is is one God God This teaching is not a a one-time thing but should be continually taught in in our homes as we use various ways of getting the message home remember the methods might change but the message is always
the same Our motto teaches us that if we apply Duet chapter six to our lives many of the problems in our world today would no longer be if we would only teach the the word in the the home This passage of scripture provides the the central theme of Deuteronomy It sets a a a pattern that helps us relate the Word of God to our daily lives We are to love God think constantly about His home The Hebrews were
extremely successful at making religion an integral part of life The reason for their success was that religious education was life-
oriented oriented not information-oriented They used the context of daily life to to teach about God The key to to teaching your children to love God is stated simple and clearly in these verses If you you want your children to follow God God you must make God God a a part of your everyday experiences You must teach your children diligently to see God in all aspects of life not just those that are church related National Baptist Convention of America International Inc Brotherhood Newsletter
