T he COVID-19 pandemic has forced people to adjust to a new normal, and the impact on fitness is no exception. Individuals may find themselves working from home, thereby sitting for longer periods of time, or they could be caring for kids while schools are shut down – making it difficult to find the time to exercise. While exercise has always been essential to health, being active has become crucial during the pandemic. Benefits of regular exercise include immune-boosting benefits that help fight off infections, prevent weight gain, reduce stress and anxiety, and improve sleep. Taking the time to adjust to a new fitness routine and prioritizing regular physical activity is crucial to optimizing health and improving your general well-
being. To quote the former No. 1 tennis champ, Billie Jean King, “Champions adjust.”
