time if we adopted a frame of mind that we would enjoy it. We reflected on the fact that we had celebrated Easter, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, birthdays, and Thanksgiving alone, and, by golly, we could do it for Christmas!
With that in mind, we spent the weekend after Thanksgiving decorating our home for Christmas. Because we had planned to be gone for the month of December, we had not expected or planned to put up a Christmas tree or do much decorating. However, we ended up putting up a Christmas tree in the front window of our living room, and we put up a miniature Christmas tree in the window of our dining room where I have my temporary office. We had such zeal for decorating that our house has hardly ever been so well decorated for Christmas, and I am not sure that it ever will be again.
