President Craig Marvinney and First Lady Paula McQueen welcome you to the 2024 Winter Meeting in Sunshine City! That’s right – for
the very first time, the FDCC will hold
a meeting in St. Petersburg, Florida!
From Sunday, February 25th through Wednesday
But we’ll start at the hotel. We will kick off the meeting at our Sunday night Welcome Session, followed by our Welcome Reception on the Vinoy Lawn. Meet and greet the new members and your old friends with some craft cocktails, plus we’ll have heavy hors d’oeuvres, food stations, and maybe a little light music to send you off to explore the city.
On Monday, we kick off our programming with Section meetings addressing:
• Deposing former employees • Settling post-pandemic cases • Innovative approaches in
product liability cases
• ESG litigation
• Police body cam videos in civil
rights cases
• Law firm technology.
We have a separate track for
our in-house counsel, which starts Monday and will focus on communicating with your C-Suite.
Following this, we will get together at the main stage for:
• United States District Judge Dan Polster (M.D. Ohio), who presided over the opioid MDL
• A deep dive into AI and chatbots
• Litigation management of large caseloads
The song says, “When the sun shines, we shine together,” and Monday afternoon will offer opportunities to get together with old friends and meet new ones. Get to know your FDCC colleagues during a bay fishing excursion. Chat with your peers while etching your very own wine glass at the world-famous Duncan McClellan Gallery. Collaborate with your classmates during a cooking class. Meet some folks on an electric bike tour of St. Petersburg, or if e-bikes aren’t your thing, your group can saunter down the street on a cocktail tour. If you’re feeling
the 28th, the FDCC will take over 270 of the 354 rooms at the Vinoy Renaissance St. Petersburg Resort & Golf Club. The Vinoy has recently renovated the entire facility, adding five new restaurants, a modernized fitness center, and a contemporary pool bar. Part of the prestigious Autograph Collection, the Vinoy also offers a par-71 golf course and a 10-court tennis facility. Your biggest challenge might be finding a reason to leave the resort.
You’re walking in sunshine . . . and don’t it feel good!
