 Looking Forward
artistic, join a docent-led tour of the Salvador Dali Museum, which hosts Dali’s works plus a new, immersive exhibit called “Dali Alive 360.”
Also on Monday afternoon, update your social media presence, as a professional photographer will be available to take headshots. We will also have a makeup artist to touch you up (as if you need it).
You’ll want to look and feel your best Monday night when we host the President’s Reception at Museum of the American Arts and Crafts Movement.
The Arts and Crafts Movement was a 20th century school
of thought concentrating on architecture, interior design,
and other decorative arts that included Frank Lloyd Wright and other artists around the world. Opened in September 2021, the MAACM is the only museum in the world dedicated exclusively
to the American Arts and Crafts Movement. True to its function, the $90 million MAACM features spectacular architecture, including a grand atrium, skylights, a theater, and over 40,000 square feet of gallery space.
We have rented the entire museum
for the evening, so you can tour the exhibits at your leisure. You will start at the Ballroom, where you can sip a beverage at an 18-foot-long Mont Oro bar from 1900. You will then walk through the Collector’s Gallery, which features 75 rare and important art pieces from the Two Red Roses Foundation Collection and will be opened specially for
us. From there, you can view
five floors of works by Wright, Gustav Stickley, and other famous American artists and crafts persons. Eventually, you will make your way to the downstairs atrium, where our chefs will have prepared a dinner featuring local St. Petersburg culinary specialties and a few surprises.
Your museum education will put you in a frame of mind to learn during Tuesday's program. It will start with the following break outs:
• Part Two of deposing former employees
• Protecting your case to win on appeal
• Leadership in supervising claims professionals with multi- jurisdictional coverage
• Defending the 30(b)(6) deposition
• Protecting clients from AI
The second part of the in-house counsel series will address handling the “bet the company” matters. These will be followed by the following main stage presentations:
• FedTalks on Leadership
• Securing every last bit of
electronic data on the plaintiff
• The future of the practice from a
legal futurist's perspective
After Tuesday morning, you will enjoy “Eternal Sunshine,” during which you can spend hours upon hours enjoying St. Petersburg. Spend the afternoon on our deep- sea fishing excursion. Take a few hours to play in the FDCC Golf Tournament at the Vinoy Resort
or our Pickleball Tournament. Leisurely stroll through the 100-year-old Sunken Gardens, home to some of the oldest tropical plants in the region, waterfalls, koi ponds, and flamingos. If you’re lucky, the Yankees or the Phillies might be playing a spring training game nearby.
Alternatively, if the President’s Reception has whetted your appetite for art, St. Petersburg has one of the most vibrant art scenes in the country. Visit the Museum of Fine Arts, which boasts a collection covering almost 5,000 years of civilization in thousands of objects, including works from Monet, O’Keeffe, De Kooning, and others. If you’re in the mood for glass art, the Morean Arts Center features
art by Dale Chihuly and others.
The James Museum of Western & Wildlife Art, opened in 2018, offers hundreds of works of art depicting the peoples, landscapes, and history of the American West. And, after
a $92 million renovation in 2020, the St. Petersburg Pier showcases numerous artworks, plus five
