The 2022 Corporate Counsel Symposium
By Paul Finamore & Elizabeth Fitzpatrick
It is difficult to believe, but the 2022 Corporate Counsel Symposium has come and gone, and it will
go down in the books as another great CCS event. Back in person in Philadelphia, we had 47 corporate counsel members and 68 defense counsel members attend.
The meeting kicked off with our keynote speaker, Todd Presnell of Bradley Arant Boult Cummings, LLP who gave an interesting and thought–provoking presentation on the issue of privilege, particularly as it relates to corporate counsel. Suffice it to say that Todd was so interesting that no one noticed
that his presentation carried on for an extra fifteen minutes into the cocktail hour. We certainly thank him for coming to Philadelphia to meet with us. We were also pleased that although his nomination
was pending with the Admissions Committee prior to CCS, that Todd’s nomination as a Defense Counsel Member was approved shortly thereafter.

environment with attacks coming from all directions. Joined by Yosha Delong of Mosaic Insurance, Al Saikali of Shook Hardy and Sam Terzich of Gallagher Bassett, the panel gave us tremendous insight
into the issues and left us with some recommendations regarding best practices. We then heard from our Co-Chair Elizabeth Fitzpatrick as she led a very interesting panel discussion regarding diversity
and inclusion in the workplace during the great resignation and reimagination eras.
As is a tradition with CCS events, we had a roundtable discussion with all of the attendees during which we discussed issues that keep corporate counsel awake at night and shared ideas on handling adversity and ideas to address it.
