The Insurance Coverage Training Academy has just completed its 2022 Property Insurance Boot Camp at the Sheraton Times
complemented the practical hands- on focus on the fundamentals needed when approaching a property claim.
The all-day session started with a review of basic property insurance coverage forms and discussing covered and uncovered property. In addition, the attendees were afforded presentations and interactive discussions on the different causes of loss, including the most common exclusions
and the mystifying ensuing loss giveback, and the conditions in the property insurance form that must be met in order for there to be coverage (such as notice requirements, providing
documentation, or sitting for
an examination under oath). Additionally, valuation issues and determination of actual cash value vs. replacement cost value were also examined. The day concluded with a discussion of common litigation issues and some good claims handling tips.
Our sincere thanks to the great faculty and all who attended.

The immersion-learning program was built around a hypothetical fact pattern and placed the attendees in a claims-type environment, identifying and working collaboratively through the coverage issues faced most often in first-party property claims. Small breakout sessions led by leading coverage attorneys and senior insurance claim executives
