I Am Thankful!

You have heard plenty from me over the last 12 months so let me be brief and to the point. “No duty is more urgent than giving thanks” said the British writer James Allen. I live a life of gratitude and
try to take nothing for granted. So let me extend some well deserved thanks to those who worked so hard during my term as President.
Marc and Holly Harwell combined with Lauren Curtis to put together a superb Winter Convention in Palm Desert. Erin and I are grateful to you and thank you. Heidi Goebel combined with Amy Miletich to deliver our recently-completed Annual Convention in Seattle. Thank you both for your tireless work. The venue, our first urban summer meeting, was a challenge. For those that attended, thank
you. Erin and I are so grateful to have finished our run here in our backyard. And these meetings do not happen without the dedication of the full Headquarters team led by Bernie and Martha Heinze. Thank you both.
I was privileged to serve with a dedicated Board of Directors that excelled at every assignment.
Our time spent together as friends, colleagues, and lawyers in our shared profession is a deeply enriching life experience.
Mike Glascott, our outgoing Board Chair, served as my mentor and wise advisor. With some wonderful additions, I now get to help direct that new Board over the coming months, working side by side
with President Howard Merten, President Elect Craig Marvinney, and incoming Secretary Treasurer Heidi Goebel. I thank them all. Let me finish with this thought.
Our time spent together as friends, colleagues, and lawyers in our shared profession is a deeply enriching life experience. My FDCC experience has changed my personal and professional life in profound and meaningful ways.
I look forward to sharing more fellowship with you all. Thank you for being part of the FDCC family.
