 FDCC Meetings - Looking Forward
Lauren and Sean put on a performance at Studio B
from Sunday, February 19th through Wednesday, February 22nd, beginning with the kickoff late Sunday afternoon and the closing gala Wednesday evening (committee meetings will start on Saturday, February 18th). February 20th being President’s Day, you will have less time out of office and more time for fun and fellowship! With a room rate of $329/night over a holiday weekend, we hope many of you will come early and enjoy
an extra night in the city. Our room block will sell out fast, so please register soon!
Our Convention Theme is “Friends in All Places,” and Convention Chair Lauren Curtis has created an itinerary filled with opportunities to reconnect with your old FDCC friends and make new ones. Activities and tours will start on Sunday and continue through Wednesday afternoon, including the following highlights:

venue in Nashville, hosting the most notable and up-and-coming artists in the industry. Join us at the historic Grand Ole Opry House for a true Nashville experience. Start with a VIP guided backstage tour at the home of country music, followed
by an encore of hand-crafted specialty food and beverages in
a private event space. To top it all off, a Nashville singer-songwriter will perform a private show for our group. (Travel by bus).
Historic RCA Studio B Tour: RCA Studio B was the birthplace of the “Nashville Sound.” This behind
the scenes tour will show guests where Elvis Presley, Dolly Parton, the Everly Brothers, Roy Orbison, Waylon Jennings, and other greats were discovered and later recorded their biggest hits, allowing you sit at the very piano where they created their magic. If you’re exceptionally talented, the tour guide might let you tickle the ivories at the famous Elvis Steinway piano. (And if you’re not, you can just sit at the piano like Lauren and Sean did.)
Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage VIP Tour: The Hermitage is a historical museum and the resting place
of Andrew Jackson, the seventh president of the United States. The 1,000 plus acre site, located 10 miles east of downtown Nashville, was owned by Jackson from 1804 until his death in 1845. The curated VIP experience includes conversation and Q&A with knowledgeable staff members in the Cabin by the Spring event space. It includes charcuterie and wine, a private guided tour of the mansion, and a self-guided tour of the visitor’s center and beautiful grounds. (Travel by bus.)
Ryman Auditorium Tour:
Established in 1892, Ryman Auditorium is a National Historic Landmark and a must-see destination. The Ryman was the home of the Grand Ole Opry from 1943-1974 and has hosted music stars including Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, Garth Brooks, and Bob Dylan. On September 20, 2022, Taylor Swift accepted the Songwriter Artist of the Decade award at Ryman Auditorium. Knowledgeable tour guides will take guests on a backstage tour through the dressing rooms, and guests will also get the chance to stand on the famous stage and take photographs.
National Museum of African American Music: The NMAAM
