the fundamentals you need to know to handle a property claim. Participants will also be able to expand their network of others who specialize in this line of business and in property insurance coverage matters.
We will start by reviewing the basic property insurance coverage form and discussing covered and uncovered property. We will also discuss different causes of loss, including the most common exclusions and the mystifying ensuing loss giveback. We will also talk about conditions in
the property insurance form
that must be met in order for there to be coverage (such as notice requirements, providing
documentation, or sitting for an examination under oath).
Additionally, we will discuss valuation issues and determination of actual cash value vs. replacement cost value. We will finish the day discussing common litigation issues that you should be aware of if your claim ends up in litigation. Last, but not least, we will make sure to give you some good claims handling and coverage tips to implement immediately upon returning back to the office.
The day will conclude with a cocktail reception together with those arriving to attend the I-3 sessions, to which the attendees are also invited.
