FDCC’s Evolve is a committee which gained momentum under the leadership of Scott Kreamer. Current President Bob Christie as well
as Stephen Embry were also early supporters who helped to establish Evolve. The early pioneers believed that the FDCC should be devoted to teaching and exposing FDCC members to new technology tools and programs.
One of the primary goals of Evolve is to emphasize the concept that attorneys can and should become familiar with hardware, software, and apps that can substantially improve how a lawyer reviews, organizes and presents information in his/her law practice. To date, Evolve has been heavily focused
on introducing members to the benefits of utilizing the iPad Pro.
A quick Google search or look at reviews on tablets suggests that the iPad Pro occupies the distinction as being the best tablet in the world. Evolve has therefore focused heavily on introducing members to the benefits of utilizing an iPad Pro in their law practice.
At the Winter 2022 meeting in
Palm Springs, California the Evolve Committee presented a one hour program entitled: "iPower - Using an iPad Pro to Power Up Your Practice". This session discussed utilizing the iPad Pro in daily law practice and gave specific use
cases for annotating and editing documents through the iPad
Pro. A comprehensive paper
was also submitted by the Evolve Committee in connection with this presentation. This presentation and paper are examples of one of the key goals of the Evolve Committee,
that is to focus on assisting members to use technology and become more organized and effective in daily law practice.
The Evolve Committee also conducts a unique program
called FedTechU, a highly specialized program designed
to help members become better
at making more powerful and compelling presentations. The Evolve Committee recognizes that FDCC members will at some point have to make presentations at trial, at a mediation, in a boardroom to colleagues, to a client as a part of
a comprehensive evaluation, on behalf of a client to a governmental entity, or to a client or industry group discussing developments in the law; etc.
Accordingly, the Evolve Committee designed FedTechU as an educational initiative to assist FDCC members become more familiar and adept with technology. FedTechU is 2 day workshop for members committed to getting better at using visual presentation technologies to enhance their powers of persuasion. At FedTech U everyone works together in
a collaborative and supportive environment to learn more about how the iPad and other powerful apps can revolutionize how you practice law.
The primary goal of Evolve is to make an impact, sharpen your practice skills, and to be a value- added proposition for FDCC members. The Evolve Committee hosted the FedTechU Spring 2022 edition in Philadelphia on April 29 - May 1, 2022. An additional offering is under consideration for the Fall. Please consider signing up for the next FedTechU. The Fed Evolve Committee and programing are dedicated to constantly developing and making available initiatives that will maximize the value of FDCC membership.
