The Convention
Theme for the FDCC
2025 Winter Meeting
in Charleston,
South Carolina is “A
Place for Everyone
at Charleston
Place” and our Program Theme is
“Learning to Lead—Being the Best
One Can Be”. The meeting program
is designed to teach our members
and guests to lead their firms,
corporations, and associations,
irrespective of their position and
title. It will include programming
tailored explicitly for corporate
counsel and law firm lawyers
and leaders. We have planned a
dedicated Trial Master program
and a number of presentations will
focus on trial practice and strategy.
The 2025 Winter Meeting features
as speakers and panelists the
Supreme Court Chief Justice of the
State of South Carolina; two United
States Circuit Court judges; two
United States District Court District
judges; the Mayor of Charleston,
South Carolina; the Dean of the
University of South Carolina
School of Law; a past Governor of
the State of South Carolina; and
several corporate counsel including
members of the legal departments
of Microsoft, Oracle, the Schmidt
Special Competitive Studies Project,
Textron, FedEx, Zurich Insurance
and other corporations. We have
made a concerted effort to invite
thought leaders to this meeting
for the benefit of both our outside
counsel members and particularly
our corporate counsel members.
These judges, scholars, and legal
department leaders appeal to a
large audience and will provide
attendees with insightful and
diverse perspectives on important
issues facing the legal profession
and its clients.
Our invited keynote speakers are
Diane Foley, Colum McCann and
Dennis Fitzpatrick. Ms. Foley is the
president of the Foley Foundation,
the subject of Colum McCann’s
recent best-selling book American
Mother; Mr. McCann is the author;
and Mr. Fitzpatrick is the former
Assistant United States Attorney
who prosecuted the case which is
the subject of the book.
