FDCC Pillars
It is my absolute
privilege to serve as
the 2024-2025 Chair
of the FDCC State
and International
Representative
Program. Along with
the Regional Chairs, Imoh Akpan,
Vicki Smith, Chelsey Golightly,
Jamie Huffman Jones, and Jennifer
Thomas. A full list of State Reps is
available on the FDCC website.
The State and International
Representatives, appointed
by FDCC President, Heidi
Goebel, serve a vital role in our
organization. The State Rep role
has evolved over time and is a
bit amorphous—but in the best
way! Historically, the state and
international representatives have
been asked to remain available to
members in their respective states
to respond to questions about the
Federation, encourage nominations
of new members, encourage
attendance at our meetings, write
articles for the Friday Fives and
Insights magazine as needed, look
for opportunities to convene local
informal gatherings, keep an eye
and ear out for anything members
in their states may need generally
and, as to let us know if any
member(s) encounter any distress
or is in need of anything with which
the FDCC may be able to provide
assistance.
In sum, the most significant
aspect of the State Rep role is
being a point of contact for—and
generally available as a resource
to—the membership within your
State, and particularly to new
members. Importantly, State
Reps are encouraged to identify
members within their state who
are interested in becoming more
involved in the Federation generally
