MELANOMA CANCER FACTS
Research shows that melanoma cancer is caused
by over exposure to UV radiation from the sun and builds up overtime. The people most susceptible to melanoma cancer spend a lot of time exposed to the sun. You dont need to just be someone that lies sun baking at the beach for hours each week, to be suseptable to melanoma cancer. All SLSC members are in this danger bracket, as they receive excessive sun exposure, in order to do their job.
They need to be on patrol for peak times of the day, when the sun is at it’s hottest ( between 12pm and 3pm) and the length of time for the exposure is generally a 4-6 hour shift.
