The club will host informal economic discussions multiple real-world occurrences such as the impact of Brexit in the UK or how the increase of Hong Kong’s
minimum wage in 2019 affected the labour market. The members of the club will be given a week to prepare to have a short speech about the topic. There is no
marking system and the members just have to present their ideas. The topics will progress similarly to the IB and IGCSE courses (start by discussing topics related to
microeconomics and then progress to topics related to macroeconomics). We believe that this club will help students improve on their economical knowledge for
both IGCSE and Year 12 IB students as well as help them practice answering long-answer questions in their upcoming exams. We intend to have one session every
week on Tuesday lunchtimes for Years 9-12.
