Plymouth Fire-Rescue Wishes Deputy Chief Bonan All the Best in His Move to Head up Holderness Fire Department
By DoNNa RhoDes
PLYMOUTH – The Plym- outh Fire-Rescue Department, as well as the entire Plymouth and Pemi-Baker community, is wish- ing Plymouth’s Deputy Chief Jeremy Bonan all the best in his future as he leaves the depart- ment on Dec. 2 to take on the role of Holderness Fire Depart- ment’s first full time Fire Chief. Bonan has been with PFD for 17 years, starting as a Call Fire- fighter in 2004 while attending college at Plymouth State Uni- versity.
Bonan joined the department in 2008 as a fulltime firefighter, working his way up the ranks to Captain in January of 2015.
Plymouth Fire-Rescue Chief Tom Morrison said that both he and Bonan were then sworn in to their new roles as Chief and Deputy Chief on the same night,
just four years later and have worked well together throughout that time.
“It’s certainly sad to see him go,” Morrison said, “but this is a great opportunity for him to be- come the first full time chief for the Holderness Fire Department. He will be missed.”
During his time with Plym- outh Fire-Rescue, Bonan also served the department and the community as well in a number of roles, from president of the Plymouth Firefighters’ Associa-
tion to working on community events and fundraisers such as barbecues for concerts on the Town Common to breakfasts at the firehouse and more.
Thursday, Dec. 2, will be Bonan’s last day as Deputy Chief for Plymouth, and the public is invited to stop by for an open house from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. to wish him well in his future, just across the Pemigewasset River from where his career began. Light refreshments will be served.
