O’HARA, DOROTHY M
BRISTOL - Dorothy “Dot- tie” M. O’Hara, 77 died Friday, November 6, 2020 at her home after a brief illness. Born in Norwood, MA, she was one of four daughters of Stanley and Anne (Olsavitch) Wiencek. She graduated from Dedham High School in 1960 and later at- tended school for business study which would come in handy in future years. In 1963 Dorothy married Andrew O’Hara and to- gether they owned and operated O’Hara Plumbing and Heating in Bristol, NH.
The family had summered on Newfound Lake in Bristol for years until 1974 when they made Bristol their permanent home. While assisting with the business, Dottie was given a lifetime mem- bership in the Women’s PHCC. She also spent many summers managing the snack shack at Wellington State Park.
For many years, the family hosted exchange students from other countries and were fortu- nate later to travel to see many of them in their home countries.
After her children were grown, she worked as an LNA at the NH Veterans Home in Til- ton. Dottie was a genuine care giver. She lovingly took interest in each of the residents lives and was loved by all. She was de- voted to her faith and an active communicant of Holy Trinity Parish in Bristol. Dottie loved her polish food, bird watching,

playing the accordion, and shar- ing her traditions with those she loved.
One of the greatest joys in Dottie’s life was her family. She loved them and every moment spent with them. Special times were enjoyed at home in Bris- tol, at their summer home in Newfoundland, supporting her children, grand children and extended family at school, work or play. Her family always came first. She will be dearly missed by her husband of 57 years, An- drew O’Hara, Sr of Bristol; son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Ceena O’Hara Jr. of Bristol; daughter and son-in-law Patricia and Scott Albert of Bristol; and daughter Kathleen O’Hara of Goffstown. Dottie was blessed by the frequent love and pres- ence of her grandchildren Tiela and husband Justin Merwin, Al- yssa Albert, Kyle Albert, Calvin Meattey, Hayden Meattey and great-grandson, Jack Merwin. Dottie is survived by her sister and brother-in-law Jeannette and Kenneth Kuske of Wellesley, MA and sister Stephanie Wiencek of Bristol. She was predeceased by sister, Irene Nesteruk, whose spe- cial life ended too soon. Dottie’s love of family extended to her numerous nieces, nephews, and their families and to generations of close friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by Fr. Leo LeB- lanc, Thursday, November 12, at 9am at Our Lady of Grace of Holy Trinity Parish. Burial followed at Homeland Cemetery.

PATTEN, BEVERLY M
ALEXANDRIA - Beverly M. Patten, 82, died Sunday Novem- ber 1, 2020 at the Golden View Health Care Center following a period of declining health. She was born in Laconia, the daugh-
ter of H. Barney Adams and Eunice (Swain) Adams Carlson. She attended local schools and graduated in 1955 from Bristol High School. In her younger days, she enjoyed hiking Cardi- gan and camping. Bev was an ac- tive member of the Alexandria United Methodist Church and in the Newfound Area.
Beverly loved the area and was so knowledgeable in its his- tory and ongoing stories. For many years she was the librarian at the Haynes Library in Alex- andria and was the Alexandria Correspondent for the Bristol Enterprise. Her concern for her family and neighbors was exhibited by her assistance in es- tablishing and volunteering with Newfound Area Nursing Associ- ation. She was a member of the Alexandria Volunteer Fire De- partment Auxiliary and with her husband Ken gave thousands of hours and miles to Bristol Com- munity Services, assisting with transportation for those in need to be taken to doctor’s appoint- ments. Many will remember her for her gift of music which she shared at church, community events, weddings, funerals and with shut ins. Her infectious laugh and the twinkle in her eye would brighten any room she en- tered. Bev was a true caregiver to her friends, neighbors and community and will be missed by many.
She leaves behind her hus- band Kenneth Patten of Alexan- dria; a daughter Lorraine Steele of Gorham; sister Brenda Sharp, nieces, nephews and their fami- lies.
A graveside service was held November 6th at 2:30pm at the Riverside Cemetery, Fowler River Rd, Alexandria. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Newfound Area Nursing As- sociation (NANA), 214 Lake St., Bristol, NH 03222.
