Shared Leadership: Note if the team uses the Team Leadership Model (Leader, Process Coach, Timekeeper). If they don’t use it, note if they talked about using it or if someone suggested it (write down their name), but it fell on deaf ears, or was decided against.
Leadership Who takes charge initially? Who positions themselves as leader. Find out later when you are giving feedback whether this person(s) holds a management position. Don’t express it as negative, but point out they will be stronger at the point that non-management feels comfortable jumping in and taking charge as well. Note who and how charge of the process is established.
Resources: Resources are power and people in positional power often unconsciously hold on to the resources as they see the distribution as their responsibility. Who touches the resources first? Did people share the resources immediately or did 1, 2, or people hold on to the majority of resources.
Listening: How will do people listen to each other? It is hard to note who is NOT listening so indicate remarks instead about ideas & communications that go UNHEARD.
Contribution: Note (by name) if some individuals seem to hold back, stand back out of the circle, rarely speak. (Note also by name, if others try to bring them in to the process).
Delegation and Action Planning: Note if the team had a discussion as to HOW they would accomplish the obligation of development of a presentation and naming of the product. Did they set up Action Teams to accomplish various tasks? Did they wait til the last minute to follow the instructions related to presentation and naming. (Note names of people who suggest these things, even if they are not acted upon.
Good Humor: Note (by name) who helps the team stay in good humor. But note also when laughter intimidates an idea from forming in the group.
