Quality Assurance and Improvement
“Oh, how boring,” you might think. Some people do it as second nature, constantly improving, tweaking and making things better. Did you also know the federal government requires it? Tag F520 Quality Assessment and Assurance requires nursing homes to identify issues and action plans to correct quality deficiencies. It further states that good faith attempts to do so will not be used as a basis for sanctions. So consider this a gift from the government. We are mandated to identify, fix and solve problems and continually improve. And, it isn’t supposed to be held against you during a survey. That certainly seems like
a gift. Some of us are born to constantly make something better. If you aren’t, jump on board. It can only serve you, your householders and your organization well.
