Deductions (Other)
It is possible for you to authorize The Piper to make additional deductions from your paycheck, such as for 401k, Section 125/Health Plan, Insurances, etc.
Automatic Direct Deposit: Automatic direct deposit is mandatory for associates. The associate may choose to have their check deposited into a checking or savings account or into an authorized paycard.
Salary Changes: Payroll salary changes after the introductory period, performance, promotion/transfer reviews will be in effect the payday immediately following your review date. If the review is late or has not been completed by the established review date, these salary changes will be retroactive and received the next pay period.
Overtime Pay: Overtime is paid according to guidelines established by the Fair Labor Standards Act. Termination Pay: Termination or final pay will be available within the current pay period for both
voluntary and involuntary terminations. The effective date of termination will be the final day worked. The last day of work cannot be Paid Time Off (PTO). Earned and unused Paid Time Off (PTO) will be paid to those Associates who have completed the 90 day introductory period, and have terminated in good standing. Introductory and part-time Associates are not eligible for PTO in conjunction with final pay.
DRUG & ALCOHOL-FREE WORKPLACE
In furtherance of its commitment to provide a safe and productive environment for its associates, residents, families and visitors, The Piper is a drug and substance-free workplace. As required by the Federal Drug Free Workplace Act, the Company strictly prohibits the unlawful possession, manufacture, sale, distribution, dispensation, consumption or use of a controlled substance, illegal drugs (as defined by federal law) and alcohol while on company property, while on duty, while on-call, when operating a Company owned or leased vehicle and when operating any vehicle used for Company business. In addition, the Company prohibits associates from working or being present on Company property with any illegal drugs or alcohol in their system, and/or in their possession. This policy also prohibits associates from working or being present on Company premises while under the influence of prescription drugs that hinder their ability to safely perform their job duties.
Failure to comply with this policy and violation of any of the work rules set forth below will result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination, even for a first offense. An associate who tests positive for drugs under one of the provisions of this policy may be disciplined up to and including discharge even if the associate has a prescription for medical marijuana or a medical marijuana card, except to the extent such right is limited by state or local law.
Prohibited Conduct
! Associates shall not report to work or be present on company property while under the influence or impaired, with drugs or alcohol in their possession, or while utilizing prescription medications that affect job safety or performance or which are not used in accordance with the prescription or in a manner or for a purpose other than as prescribed.
o Use of prescription or nonprescription medications is not prohibited when taken in accordance with a legal prescription or consistent with standard dosage recommendations and as long as job safety or job performance is not impacted. In the event of an associate’s use of prescription medications, it is the associate’s responsibility in the first instance to inquire of his or her physician whether the medication will affect his or her ability to work
